Internship and Volunteer Opportunities, January – March 2016

We are looking for new Interns and Volunteers to support young refugees in our Bridging London project work in North West London and Croydon from January 2016. The positions are unpaid, but travel expenses within Greater London are covered.

We are looking for people who can commit for 3 months and begin in January 2016 for the following roles:

  • Barnet Project Intern, 2 days per week on Wednesdays and Thursdays and some Saturdays and remote working
  • Croydon Peer Support and Girls Group Intern, 3 days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Interns are an invaluable part of our small team and will have the opportunity to get experience of direct work with young refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in our youth groups, peer support schemes, Saturday trips and holiday activities, as well as assisting with administration, project planning and monitoring and evaluation tasks. The ability to speak a refugee community language(s) is highly desirable.

  • Volunteer Peer Support Projects Worker, 2 days per week on Tuesday lunchtime and Wednesday afternoon
  • Croydon Youth Group Volunteer x2, 1 day per week on Thursday evenings

All volunteers & interns will need to provide 2 references, undergo a Young Roots DBS check and attend Young Roots safeguarding training.
