London to Brighton Cycle Ride – cycle in support of young refugees

This event took place on 10th September 2023, Clapham Common to Brighton Seafront

Together we can transform lives.

Join us for the London to Brighton Cycle Ride

Starting from the city, and ending by the coast, the London to Brighton cycle is an incredible event to take part in. Get ready to saddle up alongside 4,000 riders and follow the beautiful route down to the seafront of Brighton.

The event, which has been organised by Skyline Events, can be taken on by anyone, whether you are an experienced cyclist or up for a challenge! So, gather your troops and take a trip to the seaside this September whilst raising funds and awareness in support of young refugees in London.

Why cycle for Young Roots?

Young Roots supports hundreds of young refugees in London each year. In 2022 alone, we supported 873 young people from 45 countries - through our Casework service, youth activities, English support, and access to specialist therapeutic and legal advice. In 2023, we aim to support 1000 young people.

Every mile you cover and every pound you raise will help provide access to these vital services and activities for young refugees, as they heal from the trauma of their experiences and rebuild their lives in safety.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at fundraising@youngroots.org.uk.

“My English has improved, thanks to mentoring, enrolling at college and speaking with the staff at Young Roots. I now do not need an interpreter - only for difficult conversations… My stress levels have gone down now too from speaking to a counsellor and my Caseworker.”

Your route and the event

Make your way along the sign-posted route, which includes cascading through the idyllic English countryside putting your pedals to the test on Ditchling Beacon before gliding down to Brighton to cross the finish line.

On your way, you could make a stop at the picturesque village of Turners Hill for lunch, stay hydrated at water stops along the route of this challenging cycle ride and take advantage of Skyline Events stationary and roaming mechanical support to keep you on course to the finish line.

Find out more about the route and what will be included for the ride.

Thank you so much for your support.
